Weedons - second time around

It must be a good place to stay if you're happy to return. When we stayed at Weedons in October we had no idea that we'd be back again in February, only four months later!

We try and keep driving between places we stay to around an hour. It means we don't miss much in between and we find it works best for the dogs (especially when the temps have been so high).

After staying at Ealing we drove north for about an hour and arrived at Weedons, the perfect place to spend a few days before heading home to Nelson.

Spacious Weedons

Weedons is an NZMCA park just south of Christchurch. It's a large, well-maintained area surrounded by farm paddocks.

We found a nice spot to park that backed onto a horse paddock. Plus it's beside a fresh water tap - not far to go to fill the tanks up.

The park has great facilities. There's a large room where 'Happy Hour' is held, it's also the place you sign in when you arrive. It has a big bookcase full of books and magazines you can borrow.

Next door is another building with a washing machine and dryer. Only $2 to do a load of washing - great value.

The maximum days you can stay is 21 days in any 60 day period. Although we don't plan to stay that long, we'll stay long enough to do some chores that need doing.
